Each December, Darrow presents its popular Winter Revels concert in celebration of the winter solstice and holiday season. The program includes classical and popular Christmas carols in several languages, dances, medieval tunes, traditional Hebrew songs, and verses from Shakespeare, reflecting multi-cultural themes that relate to the holiday season in many countries and from many religious backgrounds.
The concert, which gets its inspiration from the ceremony observing the Winter Solstice held each year in Cambridge, MA, and other major cities across the country, is held in the historic Shaker Tannery, festively decorated with fir trees, holiday lights, draping garland, ribbon, and banners. Featured in the program are more than 35 student and faculty members from Darrow School, who are joined by artists from nearby communities and nearby Mountain Road School.
